Fallen

To everything – turn, turn turn

There is a season – turn, turn turn

And a time to every purpose under Heaven

October is brilliant.  Autumn arrives after months of anticipation but, the seasons’ finest moment, October, is fleeting.  Each year, for as many years as I can remember, there exists in me a heightened sense of urgency to make the most of my favorite season.  Despite my best intentions the vibrant colors and wonderful, earthy smells fall away too quickly.   

At waters edge the last of the colorful reflections moved with the gentle breeze.  I sought the beauty of painted abstracts but, a more affronting image presented itself.  Before me a lone, colorless victim of the waning season floated slowly past in a fitting visual metaphor.  

A time to gain; A time to lose 

Time is our most precious resource.  Make the most of every moment, and every season, of your life.
